Clay to finished tile

Raw Clay
Sourced from the hills outside Fez — the only region whose deposits produce authentic zellige

Sun Dry
Shaped by hand and cured in the Moroccan sun, as done for ten centuries

Glaze and Fire
Mineral oxide pigments applied by hand. Fired at 980 degrees C overnight in wood-fuelled kilns

Hand-Cut
Master maâlems cut each piece by chisel to exact geometric shapes, from memory

Panel Assembly
Pre-assembled into 18 inch interlocking panels, Zellige de Fes certified, packed for freight

My Moroccan Tile is a family business, rooted in Portland, Oregon and connected to the workshops of the Fez medina, where the same families have been cutting, glazing, and firing zellige tile for over a thousand years.
